This place is AMAZING!!! I had my cataract surgery in 2023 and Dr. Shih did a fantastic job. The operation fixed my horrific myopia AND the yellowing of my cataracts. In the natural course of events, I developed scar tissue (happens in about 38% of cases). Today I went in for a scar tissue consultation and everyone is SO kind and professional here! From Grace at the front desk who made my appointment and greeted me, to Sean my technician who really knows his stuff. He also made me feel comfortable about my being there for this. My wife and I were visiting Alaska when she ended up with a eye irritation; we were ultimately referred to Alaska Lasik and Cataract Center for advanced care. Dr. Shih was able to see us very quickly, evaluated the situation and provided over multiple days extensive assistance to deal with a potentially involved situation with her eye. We would recommend them without hesitation for their professionalism and ability to deal with a difficult situation with compassion, grace and a professional response.
I had cataract surgery on both eyes and the staff and doctor were wonderful. They were very friendly and made sure I was always comfortable and checked in frequently to see if I needed anything. My doctor was Dr. Hummel and she is awesome. I am very glad I chose Alaska Lasik & Cataract Center for my surgeries. My husband also had surgeries there and was very happy with them. I highly recommend them to anyone considering cataract surgery.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about my Cataract surgery. Dr. Hummel is a excellent surgeon and personable, easy to talk to. They put me at ease about my eye surgery. I'm very blessed to have been referred to this clinic.

I am very pleased with the professionalism, care and concern exhibited by Dr. Coulter in removing my cataracts. I am 70 and had RK and Lasik many years ago. Dr. Coulter has ORA technology which should be used for prior RK/Lasik patients to achieve best results. Dr. Coulter is very thorough and follows up as much as necessary to ensure the best eye care possible. I highly recommend Dr. Coulter and his team.
