Very poor experience at the Emergency Room. The wait time was excessively long, even though this was an emergency, and there was no communication or clear explanation provided at any point. Customer service was extremely disappointing. The staff appeared indifferent, lacked empathy, and showed little willingness to assist. I waited for hours without receiving proper attention or updates. An emergency room should prioritize patients and provide humane, respectful care - something that clearly did not happen here. Everything was organized, efficient, and the entire process moved quickly and smoothly. I had surgery for my myopia and astigmatism, and I truly felt I was in very capable hands. I brought my 94yo mother with Macular Degeneration. They were amazingly fast & courteous. I was particularly appreciative of the effort they made to keep us posted every step of checking, evaluation & diagnosis. Everyone was on the ball. A big compliment to the gentleman who handles the checking in/out desk. He really held the pulse of the place in view! The security guard downstairs were super helpful that Sunday & kept an eye on mom while I went down the street to park. They even took extra time to chat it up with her in my absence. So sweet!

We went to Bascom Palmer Eye Emergency Department for my husband. While we appreciated the medical care he received, we were very disappointed with how the prescription was handled. We were asked which pharmacy we use, and the prescription was sent there without anyone checking or mentioning that the pharmacy was closed on Sunday. I recently had an eye examination with Dr. Richard Morales at Optical Express, located at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute’s Lennar Foundation Medical Center in Coral Gables.
