Galanis Cataract & Laser Center

Never thought of visiting a cataract and laser vision center for a routine eye exam, but Galanis was on the list my insurance covered, and I was leary of visiting the chain eye centers that made up most of the rest of the list. Given the amount of doctors at Galanis I was able to get a next day appointment, and the receptionist even pre-approved my insurance coverage over the Source. Had a routine eye exam scheduled for today, got there and presented insurance card and ID to receptionist. She informs me the number in their system is different. When I questioned how that could be as it was the same insurance info as last year she got extremely rude and snarkily said "Wel things change, go sit down" I went and sat down and was going to let her attitude slide until she turned to her coworker and started complaining about me asking. I had cataract surgery on both eyes performed by Dr. Galanis in January 2026. The surgeries went well, and the staff at the surgery center were polite, professional, and courteous throughout the process. However, my experience with the receptionist at the Watson Road office was disappointing. I visited this location several times as part of my treatment, and during each visit her demeanor was noticeably unfriendly. I recently switched Eyecare providers and began seeing Gallanis. In two visits I have been extremely satisfied with their service. I am seeing Dr. Barlow, a very knowledgeable and personable ophthalmologist. And huge kudos to Jan, one of the staff assistants who saw me first today. What a pro! I highly recommend gallanis Cataract and Laser Center.

I agree with a previous post. The people who answer the phone are rude and act like you are bothering them. The doctors seem to be good but office staff is terrible.
