My cataract surgery was 27 months ago, and I never got around to writing a review - and it turns out, for good reason. I needed just one eye done. The doctor tried to bully me into getting the lens that would still require me to need readers afterward. I said no, that I was still employed, and I wanted the super-duper lens that would allow me to see both near and far. She probably wasn't used to that because the vast majority of patients in the waiting room are in their 80s and above, so they could live just fine with the simple lens - but I wanted ...
EXCEPTIONAL- I had cataract surgery and choose the Light Adjustable Lense (LAL). The additional cost was worth it. Dr Smoak was great at. explaining the process and very detailed as we worked through the process. I’ve worn glasses since age 5 and now at age 70 I can read up close and see in the distance at 20/16 without glasses or readers. The outcome could not have been better Del Byrd
Excellent care. Kept me informed every step of the way. Kind, caring Technicians. The doctor who gave the exam told me exactly what she found and explained what steps were needed to take care of the problem, and the expected outcome. Everyone was so kind and explained everything. Easy to get in and out of the Office complex. Plenty of parking. Update......5/4/2026 Went for a recheck before my surgery later in the month, and ask a few questions that I had. I got the best care ever! Can't wait to "see" the results after surgery.
I was very happy with the office and dr staff. Surgery staff was amazing. I really like Dr. Haggerty I truly recommend him ,he even prayed before surgery he ask if he could We need more of that.Sarah Monday
I have been with Southeast Eye Specialists for many years. From those who make the appointments, to the ones who check me in, the associates who do the prep work and to Dr. Smoak, I am extremely pleased. They all are friendly and show they care and they strive to give me the best care possible. I highly recommend them.
Totally depends on which day you have surgery I guess. My first cateract surgery was a 5*, the second was a 1*. Wrong anesthesiologist, felt rushed through. Sorry to have to say...it was not good.
